How to Get Imvu Avatars

 IMVU stands out in the crowd of social websites because it uses three-dimensional avatars to represent its users. With this online persona, you can interact with others using animation and motion in decorated rooms. The site is free. However, you can buy advanced options such as clothes or furniture.

 

Instructions

• Click "Start Now" and then select your gender. Enter a name for your avatar and click "Next."

• Sign up for an account by specifying an email address, password, real name and other personal information. Click "Next" and skip the Connect With Friends screen by clicking "Next" again.

• Click "Install IMVU" to download the installer. After installation, run the game to display the IMVU window.

•  Click the "Me" button to dress your avatar. Your online persona appears at the top pane of the Dress Up window, with available options displayed at the bottom pane. The "My Clothing" buttons separate both panes. You can turn your avatar around by clicking on it and dragging the mouse left or right.

•  Click the "My Clothing"" button of the avatar part you want to change. For example, to change the hair, click the "Hair" button. A picture list of hair options appears in the bottom pane. Click on the option that you want to apply to your avatar. Repeat the process for the skin, clothes and animation.

•  Click "Shop Now" to display the Shop tab, which reveals options that you can buy for credits. Initial sign-ups receive over 1,500 credits for free, though you can buy additional ones for dollars. Click "Try" under the option you want to see what it would look like on your avatar. Click "Buy" to buy the option and add it to the My Clothing pane.

• Click the "Home" tab when you are finished customizing your avatar. Click "Chat Now" to enter a three-dimensional room selected by the site. Click "Chat Rooms" so you can choose a pre-existing chat room to visit. Click "My Room" to create and decorate your own room. You can then invite other users to visit.

• Click "Credits" to buy additional credits that you can spend in the shop.
